PROGRAM
Contrasts Quartet
Chiaroscuro: Drawing upon the rich textural opportunities their unusual makeup affords, the members of Contrasts—clarinetist Ayako Oshima, violinist Monica Bauchwitz, cellist Ariane Lallemand, and pianist Evelyne Luest—traverse new musical landscapes. This week, true to form, Contrasts brings us a varied program: trios of Beethoven and Khatchaturian, and two "Episodes" of an extended quartet composed especially for them by Ned Rorem.
