The FOG Trio
FOG and Friendship: Among San Francisco’s endless charms, fog casts a spell all its own. This week on Saint Paul Sunday Bill welcomes three close friends who met in San Francisco and whose initials aptly reflect its gauzy bayside air. The FOG Trio—violinist Jorja Fleezanis, pianist Garrick Ohlsson, and cellist Michael Grebanier—will bring us great piano trios of Haydn and Dvořák alongside the opening Allegro of Schubert’s second piano trio, the composer’s own favorite of his ventures in the form.
MUSIC PLAYED IN THE PROGRAM
- Franz Schubert: Piano Trio No. 2 in E-flat major, Opus 100 (posthumous)
—I. Allegro - Antonín Dvořák: Piano Trio No. 3 in f minor, Opus 65

Rare sighting
The fog in San Francisco is a common occurrence. Sightings of the FOG Trio, however, are much rarer. Three musicians who once made their home in SF make up this special piano trio: Jorja Fleezanis, violin; Garrick Ohlsson, piano and Michael Grebanier, cello. (If you take the initials of their last name in the order I just wrote them, you'll find where they get their name.) (more)
