BIOGRAPHY
Imogen Cooper was born in London and then studied in Paris and Vienna. She is now established as an international pianist, recent performances including the New York Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw, Dresden Staatskapelle and Philharmonia Orchestras.
During the 2005/06 season Imogen's performances include the NHK Symphony/Bamert, Frankfurt Radio Symphony/Hogwood, Budapest Festival Orchestra/Ivan Fischer and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra with Louis Langrée. She will also continue her long-term project of play/directing Mozart Concerti with the Northern Sinfonia. Imogen’s solo and chamber performances will include a recital as part of the International Piano Series in London and her debut solo recitals in San Francisco and at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Imogen Cooper is particularly acclaimed for her performances of classical repertoire. She works regularly as a Lieder recitalist with Wolfgang Holzmair and also in duo with the cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton.
